ZIERER was commissioned by ARFF Services GmbH to develop and construct a modular and mobile system simulating fires for the training of fire departments at airports. With this special construction, ARFF (Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, a training and consulting company) enables smaller airports to conduct the training of their personnel on site. Such airports do not often have their own training and simulation facilities.
Together with ARFF and FIREBLAST GmbH, a specialist for fire simulation, ZIERER has developed a scale model of an aircraft consisting of individual modules. These units can be transported via truck or train and can thus be forwarded to any airport for training.
ZIERER managed to deal with numerous challenges while realizing the project, e.g. loading gauges, stability or transportability of the system. Nevertheless, ZIERER was able to deliver the modules on time and to conclude another project in the special engineering and custom product section.
