Hansa-Park introduces “Einar’s Fjord Cruise” – a new family adventure

Swinging through scenic Fjords on a Kontiki

ZIERER’s latest Kontiki enhances the Viking-themed area at Hansa-Park in Sierksdorf and goes by the name “Einar’s Fjord Cruise.” This new attraction belongs to the Kontiki L series, featuring a 19-meter track length and a maximum swing height of nearly 4 meters. The ride continues the storyline of the fictional child characters Einar and Elin, who already play a key role in the neighboring roller coaster “The Snake of Midgard.” At the heart of the experience is the curious young Viking Einar, who takes guests on a swinging adventure through the Nordic fjords.

From both a technical and design perspective, the attraction includes several unique features. A completely new ship design named “FENYA” was developed especially for this project, incorporating two special children’s seats in the inner rows around the ship’s mast. Another distinctive element is the newly designed dragon head, placed only on one side of the ship.

The park has also gone to great lengths with the thematic staging. The ride features ground-level boarding — directly surrounded by a large water basin and by rocky structures reminiscent of Scandinavian fjord landscapes. This elaborate design required a specially engineered foundation, in some areas over three meters deep, to protect the ride’s structure from the surrounding water. At the same time, the lowered construction provides a large barrier-free access. As night falls, integrated lighting embedded in the rocks brings the setting to life and highlights the Nordic atmosphere of the attraction.
