On April 3, 2026, Duinrell officially opened the successor to the popular Kikkerachtbaan, which, after more than 40 years, has now been replaced by a new Force 360 coaster, the Kikker8baan. With great attention to detail and a clear focus on the park’s history, a new Force Coaster has been designed that impressively combines tradition and modernity.
The attraction draws on an exciting chapter from the park’s past. Inspired by the motocross races that took place on the grounds in the 1940s and 1950s, a dynamic and family friendly action theme was developed. This historical motif runs throughout the entire design of the ride, giving it a distinctive character.
The custom designed Force Coaster train is a real eye-catcher. It is led by Rick the Frog, who sits on a motorcycle at the front, seemingly guiding guests through the race across a total of 14 vehicles. This creative design combines the motocross theme with Duinrell’s well-known mascot, creating a unique appearance that delights both children and adults.
Like its predecessor, the new track should be designed to blend harmoniously into the existing surroundings. Because a water ride and an additional roller coaster had been installed next to the original Kikkerachtbaan over the past four decades, the available footprint had become significantly more complex. The challenge for ZIERER was to design and integrate a new coaster into the existing, tightly constrained site while meeting today’s technical requirements, safety standards and operational expectations.
The result is an almost one‑to‑one recreation of the original Large Tivoli layout—only mirrored—to fit the current spatial conditions. Now operating as a Force 360 Coaster with 14 vehicles, the ride offers the same charm and recognizability as its predecessor, combined with the benefits of a new, modern system and high capacity.
With this new Force 360 Coaster and its distinctive custom theming, Duinrell has not only found a worthy successor but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in the park’s history.
